What movie's can we screen outside?
You can select your movie by having a look at the latest lists in Select A Movie, there are different restrictions when you screen films outside as some film distributors don't allow outdoor screenings of their films so it's important to get the film approved with Road Movie who will obtain a copyright clearance from the distributor before you start any promotions.
How do I apply for a copyright clearance for a film?
As a part of Road Movies' service we apply for film copyright on your behalf. To apply for a copyright clearance you will need to provide Road Movie with:
- The location and date of the screening.
- Name (or) Company etc. to be billed.
- How many people you expect.
- How will the event be advertised?
- Is the screening part of a larger event/festival?
- If the event is free or ticketed? And If admission is charged what are your ticket prices.
Road Movie will then submit a screening request for the film on your behalf and let you know of the films availability and cost.
What requirements do you need on location?
Once you have worked out your screening location you will need to locate 240v power outlets for the cinema. It's also a great idea to go to the location at night and work out what lights are in the area, as ambient light dramatically reduces the impact of the image on the screen. Work out what lights can and can't be turned off as this will help decide the positioning of the screen. You will also need to have toilets and security for the event.
What time do we start the movie?
You will need to have a look at what time sunset is on that date and depending on cloud cover the film will be able to start about 15-20mins after sunset. You can work out your sunset time by going to the following website: Sunset in Adelaide.
What happens in bad weather?
