What requirements do you need at a venue or location? Road Movie will do a site inspection before the screening to make sure that the cinema will work in the space. We will be looking for a 240v power outlet on it's own circuit, or we can arrange to hire a generator if required.
For outdoor screenings we will need van access to where the screen will be and have all underground plumbing marked out, as 4 stakes and the van are required to help support the screen. We will also look for lights that might effect your viewing pleasure, and position the screen accordingly. It's best to turn out as many lights as possible for the screening, as ambient light can lessen the impact of the image. It's also a good Idea not to be located too far away from toilet facilities.
For indoor shows we will need to see the venue, to work out clearances on the screen and projector positioning. We will also be looking at ambient light especially if you are planning a daytime screening. Small windows can be blacked out, but large windows should be avoided.

Are there disadvantages in screening reel-to-reel films? 16mm Reel-to-Reel movies can be a great feature for nostalgia movie nights. However, due to the nature of old films you need to be aware that some film prints may be faded or scratched. For these reasons we suggest that 16mm film be used for 'Nostalgia Movie Nights' as a small amount of dust and scratches can add to the ambience. Road Movie has screened many of these film prints and has taken note of the good prints to help with your selection. If you are screening a new film and charging admission, we recommend screening on digital formats.
